UPSSSC Junior Assistant WPM Calculation formula
Error Admissible : 5 Error (If Errors are more than five than for every error committed after 5 error, will be a penalty of 5 correct words)
Case 1 : If in the test of 5 minutes a candidate 'A' have typed total 170 words in which he/she made 5 Full Mistakes and 3 Half Mistakes then the calculation will be like:
Total words typed by candidate = 170
Full Mistakes = 5
Half Mistakes = 3
Total Errors = (5 × 1 ) + (3 × 0.5) = 5 + 1.5 = 6.5
Error Admissible = 5
Penalty = 6.5 - 5 = 1.5 × 5 = 7.5
Net Right words = 170 - 7.5 = 162.5
WPM Speed = 162.5 / 5 = 32.5 WPM (Qualified)
Case 2 : If in the test of 5 minutes a candidate 'B' have typed total 125 words in which he/she made 3 Full Mistakes and 2 Half Mistakes then the calculation will be like:
Total words typed by candidate = 125
Full Mistakes = 3
Half Mistakes = 2
Total Errors = (3 × 1 ) + (2 × 0.5) = 3 + 1 = 4
Error Admissible = 5
Total Errors are less then 5, so penalty will be 0.
Penalty = 0
Net Right words = 125 - 0 = 125
WPM Speed = 125 / 5 = 25 WPM (Qualified)
