Punctuation Marks in Hindi
Punctuation is the system of symbols that we use to separate written sentences and parts of sentences, and to make their meaning clear. Each symbol is called a "punctuation mark". Hindi Punctuation is used to create sense, clarity and stress in sentences. We use punctuation marks to structure and organize our Hindi typing.
Hindi written in Devanagari consists following punctuation marks:
1. Full Stop in Hindi - Purn Viram ( पूर्ण विराम )
Full stop can break up the sentences at the end of a logical and complete thought that looks and sounds right to us.

Example : हिंदुत्व जीवन जीने की कला है।
2. Semicolon in Hindi - Ardha Viram ( अर्ध विराम )
The semicolon is somewhere between a full stop and a comma. Semicolons can be used in Hindi to join phrases and sentences that are thematically linked without having to use a conjunction.

3. Comma in Hindi - Alp Viram ( अल्प विराम )
In Hindi typing comma is used between two sentences that contain two similar clauses or a compound sentence. Comma used to organize blocks of thought or logical groupings. Commas are also used in separating items in a list.

4. Colon in Hindi - Up Viram ( उप विराम )
The colon expands on the sentence that precedes it, often introducing a list that demonstrates or elaborates whatever was previously stated.

5. Exclamation Mark in Hindi - Vismayadibodhak (विस्मयादिबोधक चिन्ह)
In Hindi writing exclamation mark is used to express exasperation, astonishment, or surprise, or to emphasis a comment or short, sharp phrase.

6. Quotation marks in Hindi - Avtaran ( अवतरण चिन्ह or उद्धरण चिन्ह )
Hindi writing uses quotation marks to cite something someone said exactly. Single or double quotation marks are also used for mark out idiomatic or unfamiliar expressions.

7. Question mark in Hindi - Prashnvachak ( प्रश्नवाचक चिन्ह )
In Hindi the question mark used at the end of all direct questions.
